AgResults Joins Climate Week NYC Panel on Scaling Market Mechanisms for Livestock Methane Mitigation

September 16, 2026

Cutting methane is one of the fastest ways to slow near-term warming, and livestock is one of its largest sources — mainly “enteric” methane, produced during digestion and released when animals burp. Some proven technologies and practices already exist to reduce these emissions on farms; the challenge is getting them adopted at scale. During Climate Week NYC 2026, AgResults is joining a cross-sector conversation about what it will take to close that gap.

On September 23, Clean Air Task Force (CATF) and Spark Climate Solutions are co-hosting From Innovation to Adoption: Unlocking Market Incentives for Livestock Enteric Methane Mitigation, an invitation-only session bringing together funders, development finance institutions, governments, and private-sector actors alongside practitioners and researchers.

The session opens with a framing presentation from CATF and Spark on the market mechanisms that can help close the adoption gap, followed by a moderated panel exploring how these mechanisms work in practice and a fireside chat on to scale them further.

The full lineup includes:

Fireside chat

Together, the panel and fireside guests will offer a candid look at what has worked, what hasn’t, and where the resources are to help livestock methane solutions move from innovation to adoption at scale.

AgResults has spent over a decade designing and running Pay-for-Results prize competitions that reward verified outcomes rather than pre-selected recipients, unlocking private-sector investment in agricultural innovation across Africa and Asia. The Tanzania Dairy Productivity Challenge Project incentivized private input suppliers to deliver high-quality inputs and advisory services to smallholder dairy farmers, while the FMD Vaccine Challenge Project is working to expand access to effective, regionally tailored vaccines through a cost-share model that lowers prices for farmers while rewarding manufacturers for verified sales.
