Design briefs. Project one-pagers. Evaluation reports. Lessons learned articles. Over more than a decade of work on Pay-for-Results (PfR) prize competitions, AgResults has produced a substantial body of resources documenting the model and its application across its portfolio of projects.
Those newer to PfR may reasonably ask: Where do I start?
The new Pay-for-Results Basics page lays out a guided path through five stages — Initiative Overview, Design Process, Project Overviews, Learning, and Evaluation and Final Reports — anchored by a visual map and curated links to the core resource for each stop along the way.
Whether you’re brand new to PfR, briefing a colleague, or revisiting the model ahead of a proposal, the page is built to meet you where you are — and leads directly into AgResults’ full Learning Library for those seeking more detail.

AgResults is a $152 million collaborative initiative between the governments of Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the World Bank Group that uses Pay-for-Results prize competitions to incentivize the private sector to overcome market barriers and create lasting change. Through AgResults’ results-based approach, these competitions reward participants for achieving independently verified outcomes that improve the lives and livelihoods of smallholder farmers.
